The music program at Waukesha North High School includes balanced curricular opportunities in band, choir, orchestra, and jazz ensemble.  Each music area offers varied co-curricular entities, ranging from musical theatre to pep band to solo ensemble experiences.

The Waukesha North Band program is comprised of the Concert Band; Symphonic Winds & Percussion; Wind Ensemble; Jazz Ensemble; North Pep Band; and the “Northstar” Marching Band.  Waukesha North concert bands enjoy the distinction of consistently being awarded superior ratings at Wisconsin School Music Association festivals.

 

Waukesha North High School is especially proud of the Waukesha “Northstar” Marching Band’s 2007, 2002 and 1995 appearance in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, as well as their 2010, 2004 and 1999 appearances in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

 

The Waukesha North Band program strives to offer a wide range of musical experiences to the more than 200 participating students.  The “Northstar” Marching Band is second to none in their support of and participation in Greater-Milwaukee community events, i.e. parades, etc.

 

Self-improvement is the central focus of the program, realized through self-discipline and commitment to the goals set.
