Kristin Cudzewicz, Assistant Director
Kristin Cudzewicz is the new Director of Bands at Butler Middle School and Assistant Director of Bands at Waukesha North High School. Kristin holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wartburg College (Waverly, IA) and a Master of Arts degree in Conducting from the American Band College (Ashland, OR).
While at Wartburg, Kristin majored in flute and was an active member of the Wartburg College Concert Bands, serving as a section leader, senior class representative on band council, and was a recipient of the Spirit of the Band award. She also performed with the Wartburg Community Symphony Orchestra, pit orchestra, a woodwind quintet, and the Wartburg flute choir. Kristin was a member of the collegiate chapter of the Iowa Bandmaster’s Association and also served as the northeast Iowa region and state representative of the Student Affairs Committee.
During her graduate work, Kristin studied with some of the greatest composers, musicians, and conductors in the world including: Frank Ticheli, Johan de Meij, Anthony Maiello, Col. Arnald Gabriel, Paula Crider, Peter Boonshaft, and Doc Severinsen.
This year will be Kristin’s seventh year as an educator, with previous positions held in Argyle, Mukwonago, and Wauwatosa. Kristin is very excited to join the Waukesha North and Butler Middle School band programs and hopes to continue to build on the tradition of excellence and contribute to the growth and success of the programs.
Outside of school, Kristin is the Pit Orchestra Conductor and Music Director of West Community Theatre in New Berlin. She resides in Greenfield with her husband, Larry, daughter, Natalie, and their dog, Toby.
